Jennifer MacNeil RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 20 years of experience in nursing. My extensive work in various acute care settings has fostered a passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan. With a robust medical background, I bring strong clinical skills in assessment and diagnosis, complemented by a natural ability to build rapport with patients and their families. I integrate evidence-based guidelines with clinical experience, observational skills, and intuition to provide holistic and personalized care.

As a PMHNP, my role extends beyond traditional patient care. I serve as an educator, mental health advocate, therapist, problem solver, and care coordinator. My extensive medical experience enables me to address both mental and physical health, recognizing the interconnectedness of these domains in achieving overall wellness. I am dedicated to breaking down barriers between mental and physical health, advocating for greater accessibility, awareness, and a non-judgmental, safe environment for all individuals.

My approach to care emphasizes interdisciplinary education, collaboration, and a patient-centered philosophy to promote health and wellness. I firmly believe that mental health deserves the same focus and prioritization as physical health to empower individuals to thrive.

I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Nursing. I began my career at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I completed the Critical Care Nursing Fellowship and achieved certification as a critical care nurse, specializing in cardiothoracic surgery. Over the past decade, I shifted my focus to emergency nursing, trauma, and psychiatric crisis stabilization, where I discovered my passion for mental health care.

This passion inspired me to establish Advanced Mental Health and Wellness, a private practice dedicated to providing safe, effective, and equitable care tailored to each individual. My goal is to improve health outcomes by offering comprehensive services in a supportive and accessible environment.

Over the last few decades, Jennifer has worked in Customer Service and Account Management roles in large corporate settings and small start-up businesses. In addition to her extensive experience, she is known for her good humor, empathy, and communication skills.
