I provide medication consultation and ongoing medication management with particular concerns to new or underlying medical conditions, childbearing aged women, pregnancy, and lactation. We will work together to find a medication that reduces your symptoms to help you return to a whole, meaningful life. I will offer you options with the fewest possible side effects and the best possible results. Medication is a tool for symptom management.
Sometimes this can be a prolonged process that takes time to get you feeling your best. I understand that medication may not be suitable for everyone. We will collaborate and look at risk vs. benefits, lifestyle changes, supplemental therapy, and therapy options.
Therapy can be transient and episodic at various times in your life. Growth, change, and development are part of our health states and are a constantly evolving process. I offer one-to-one support and guidance through painful experiences, struggles with emotional difficulties, life changes, and mental health concerns. I help you learn to trust yourself, reframe negative thoughts, and find answers within yourself to meet your goals and needs. Therapy is a highly active process of listening and teaching skills. I am not a one-modality-focused provider. Instead, I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based approaches to empower you through knowledge, self-awareness, and self-care. I provide a safe environment for individuals to openly share challenges.
Therapy is often used in combination with medication to treat mental illness. Evidence-based practice has shown that medication and therapy improve emotional and behavioral problems. So how do you know which treatment option to choose? You and I will develop a plan of treatment that best meets your needs and goals.
Depression, anxiety, substance abuse, eating disorders, schizophrenia, and bipolar disease are recommended for combination treatment. In addition, parenting, stress, transitions, and marriage problems usually require therapy as a first-line approach to treatment to help build skills to better respond to stressors. I am here to help you identify your needs and work with you to create a treatment plan that advances your personal health goals.
